About Me

My photo
I retired on March 11th 2014 after 26 years as a doctors receptionist. I am now looking forward to the freedom to enjoy my days doing anything I wish to. Spending time with family, catching up with friends. Playing in my Scrappy Shack, scrapbooking, cardmaking, art journalling, quilting, gardening, baking. Spending wonderful times with my beloved other half. I am so looking forward to this time in my life.

  2. Awesome pot holder. Here in the states the antique folks cringe at doing anything but oiling it up and buffing it. If it is rough I would see about sanding it down and using it for bulkier items. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #49

  3. Love that pot holder. I would rub it down and treat the wood with something that allows it to breathe, then use it to display rolls of pretty ribbon, or something else pretty and colourful.

Thank you for your lovely message on my blog this week.

  4. Ooh Sheilagh how lovely is that. Will it stay a pot holder? If not I would gloss it white, invite inside and smother it in pretties, and maybe the odd plant!
Good to see your scrapbook pages - all your lovelies - they make wonderful pages.

  10. lush pot holder, buy some of those new distress stains and distress it to within an inch of its life and you could put crafty things on it like stamps and small equipment

  13. Great piece Sheilagh! O the potential...decisions, decisions...I'm enjoying so many of the stamps and stencils I see these days and would probably go somewhere in that direction if you decide it's an outside piece...or there's always mosaic;)
