About Me

My photo
I retired on March 11th 2014 after 26 years as a doctors receptionist. I am now looking forward to the freedom to enjoy my days doing anything I wish to. Spending time with family, catching up with friends. Playing in my Scrappy Shack, scrapbooking, cardmaking, art journalling, quilting, gardening, baking. Spending wonderful times with my beloved other half. I am so looking forward to this time in my life.

WOYWW 154

Don't all faint with shock, yes this is inside my
Scrappy Shack
instead of my kitchen.
I am finally able to get to the workspace, but I have a serious problem with too much "Stuff"
These two little treasures were bought up at one the antiques shops up at Lady Heyes.
The little cabinet in the front I have had my eye one for about five weeks.  So when it was still there last weekend I decided it needed to come home with me and have a little alteration or two done to it.
When I get round to it is another matter!!!

The wooden contraption behind it is a little treasure my husband found a few weeks ago in the same antiques place.  It is a guillotine, and a very good one at that.  I used it for cutting card for wedding invitations and it was superb. It is over 80 years old too.

If you want to see some superb work desks pop across to Julia's Place and have a nosy, it is okay to be  nosy today. It is all done in the best possible taste as the late lamented Dick Emery would say..

  7. I love that little cabinet! There seems to be a real dearth of good antique/bric-a-brac shops around here and I miss being able to find little treasures like that.

    Thanks for sharing. Ali #77

  9. That is one fancy and fabulous guillotine cutter. There is one at my office which is really old, really heavy, sturdy and works great. I always tell them if it comes up missing, they know who to blame. Great little cabinet too. I can see how you had to have it. I like your crafting space. I think we all suffer from "too much stuff"! It is quite the disease.

  13. Back in the day of owning a craft shop, I seriously considered breaking into my old school to liberate the guillotine that looked similar to your fantastic purchase. It was unused and I know exactly which cupboard it had been left in......hold onto it Sheilagh, it was a great find!!
How is that mojo talisman working then? I've got a pot full of them on my desk and they're doing nothing for me!!
